More than just management!

Preparing for an EICR Assessment

To ensure your home remains safe and complies with current electrical safety regulations, we have arranged for a qualified electrician to carry out an inspection called an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).

Please take note of the following important information:

  • The inspection will take around 1 to 2 hours
  • A MISSED APPOINTMENTS CHARGE OF £50 IS PAYABLE IF YOU AGREE TO AN APPOINTMENT AND THEN DO NOT ALLOW THE ELECTRICIAN ACCESS. If you need to change an appointment please let us know as soon as possible please.
  • Temporary Power Outage: Please be aware that the electricity will need to be switched off for parts of the inspection.
  • Medical Equipment: If you or anyone in your household relies on electrical medical equipment that requires a continuous power supply please inform us immediately so we can coordinate with the electrician to ensure your needs are accommodated safely.
  • Protect Electronics: Before the Electrician starts his work to check the electrics please shut down, turn off and unplug sensitive electronics, such as computers, TV boxes or gaming consoles, before the electrician arrives to prevent any damage or loss of data when the power is switched off and on.
  • Clean and Clear Access: The electrician will need access to the consumer unit (fuse board) and all sockets and switches. Please ensure these areas are clean and clear prior to the appointment. Move any personal items or furniture (unless too large or heavy) which may be blocking access to sockets. Consumer units (also know as fuse boards) are often located in cupboards so please prepare by emptying the cupboard if necessary.
  • Please ensure any areas the electrician will be working in are clean and hygienic, i.e. wipe down and clean kitchen countertops, make sure floors are clean, clean the inside of cupboards etc if necessary.
  • Pets – If you have a pet in the property please make the electrician aware immediately. Keep your pet secured in a room during the check so that the electrician can work safely and without disruption. The electrician may have to go back and forth to the van for tools during the check and it is not their responsible to ensure cats or dogs do not get out of the property.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping your home safe, if you have any questions regarding the EICR assessment please get in touch with us.
